Healthcare Sector Image

Alpha Research has been working with agencies such as regional and local NHS trusts, the Nursing and Midwifery Council and the General Medical Council for many years. Projects have included policy development work on subjects such as fitness to practise and the duty of candour; evaluations of campaigns on Choose Well or flu immunisation; and an in-depth look at the day-to-day hurdles faced by people with Parkinson’s and those living with them.

Often our healthcare projects have a high media profile, reported in the national press and on television, on programmes such as BBC Breakfast. For example, the widely publicised change to degree-level entry to nursing was underpinned by extensive consultation conducted by Alpha over a number of years:

Nursing and Midwifery Council

The feedback from the consultation, together with all our stakeholder activity over that past three years has helped us to refine the standards for pre-registration nursing education. In particular, the feedback from the smaller, targeted surveys and focus groups has been valuable in identifying key messages that will inform the development of new programmes. We believe this consultation has been instrumental in supporting us to modernise nursing and prepare the profession for challenges both now and in the future.
